Title: The Meeting of Minds Author: Modgequeen Fandom: post Dogma, approximately Pairing: Jay and Silent Bob Rating: PG-13 for language, content Status: New! Archive: Jay and Silent Bob Slash Archive, Ksslash archive, anyone else must send me an email at virginfaerie@eudoramail.com to ask (I don?t use the listed one that often) Series/Sequels: definite sequel, possible trilogy (we'll see how evil I'm feeling) Disclaimers: I don't own either of the quite ingenious characters Jay or Silent Bob, I just like to use them for my own twisted pleasure. Notes: Where the heck do these ideas come from? Well, partially inspired by some of Kelandris's stories, can't remember which ones, and reading a few too many LJ Smith books way back in junior high?I also borrowed a cool plot bunny from Jade Green, mainly the one where Jay turns into a baby kitty. Technically, I prolly should have asked so if anyone is angered, make sure you email me and let me know **giggle** Spoilers: For Dogma, don't read if you haven't seen it and don't want the end ruined. Summary: This is what happens when you get kissed by God herself. Warnings: it's fluff, almost pure fluff. I promise sex in the sequel. ===================================================================================== Bob sat on the old sagging couch, notebook in his lap and pen in his hand. His notebook was open to a fresh sheet of paper as he tried to express through poetry his feelings, such as he had many times before.? After a particularly grueling day selling, Bob was tired of the insults Jay continued to hurl his way. "Tubby Bitch, Tons o' fun, Lunchbox, Fat ass?" Bob knew, somewhere in his heart of hearts that Jay didn?t mean any of the names, but it still cut him like a thousand little knives hitting his skin every time he heard Jay refer to him that way. A weaker man, or maybe less of a "hopeless romantic" would have grabbed for a bottle of pills, or maybe a knife, but Bob, well, Bob reached for his pen. "You know what they say," he thought, "The pen is mightier?" Bob heaved a deep sigh, sat back, and let the words flow. I look around this town, this place, this prison I see a circus, an old time court And I am surrounded by Clowns Jesters Harlequins One half black, one half white One side?s dark and the other light I hear the words you speak When you think I?m not listening I hear the way you laugh Mock Stare All the while scrambling to find your place Devoid of the labels you force on others One day I will be strong I will walk away From burning cobalt eyes and deceiving minds And you will be a shell A shadow Corrupting all who cross your path Poison "And therein lies the problem," Bob thought. "I will never walk away from this boy. How can I? How can I leave him after protecting him all these years, knowing that he would probably be dead within a matter of months?."And so Bob waited, and watched, and bided his time until he could tell his Jay how he felt. *His* jay. **sigh** Jay walked into his room as soon as they got to the apartment, listening to the sounds of Bob settling down on the living room couch. With a sigh, Jay flopped facedown on his bed. Ever since Jay had realized the depth of his feelings for Silent Bob, each day became harder and harder. The motor mouth ran faster, as Jay insulted Bob every time he felt himself start to stare. Oh, and he stared a lot. Tubby bitch had no idea how beautiful he was. Jay tried not to study the casual grace with which he moved, but failed miserably. "Motherfucker!" he thought, ?Why does it have to be so damn hard all the time? Of all the fucking people I could fucking choose to fall in love with, I had to choose my male roommate." Mind you, there had been some distractions along the way, such as Bethany. Jay wondered briefly how Bethany and the baby were doing. She wasn't due for another 5 months? And then there was that innocent little kiss from the Woman herself. Ha, bullshit, innocent wouldn't have given him half a stock. But he shook his mind away from memories of God's kiss, and went to see what Lunchbox was doing. Jay walked in to the living room startling Silent Bob out of his reverie. Bob because confused when he saw the shocked look on Jay's face... Shit. shit. Shitshitshitshitshitshit... Jay's mind froze at the sight of bob sitting on the couch, tears rolling down his pale face and into his beard. Why. Why was his Bob crying? His Bob??? But he didn't stop to think, he rushed into the room. Bob looked up, shocked, when he felt Jay's arms wrap around him. Why the hell was Jay hugging him? He didn't stop to think, just wrapped his arms and let himself revel in the feelings. It wasn't going to last very long, that was for damn sure. All of a sudden, Jay's hand accidentally brushed over the back of Bob's neck and skin brushed skin. Shock ran through him, as Bob expected, except this time it was something physical and that was all he had time to think before he started falling. Jay tried to recall the last time he saw Bob cry. In fact, the only time he could think of was when Bob had held Bethany's body in his arms, and they thought she was gone forever. After God had kissed his cheek. Then Jay's hand accidentally brushed across the back of Bob's neck. He felt a shock run through his hand and he was falling. Bob looked around, he was on an unfamiliar landscape, pulsing with light. Up ahead of him, a shape loomed, a high wall with spikes in it. "He's so strong," Bob heard from somewhere above him, around him, in him. Where did that come from? Where did that come from? Jay stood in the landscape, and watched Bob emerge from a cloud of fog. You heard me? Bob thought as he saw Jay come slightly forward. Of course I heard you? why WOULDN?T I hear you? Jay said?well, thought, his lips hadn?t moved. He sounded puzzled. Again, he spoke in his mind. Where ARE we? And all of a sudden, Bob could SEE. He saw images, memories flashing by him. Jay, watching him, as they stood in front of the Quick Stop and Jay tried to get him to dance. Jay, watching him try to levitate that damn cigarette with the Jedi mind trick at the fucking mall. Jay, watching him walk up the steps at the church with Bethany in his arms.? He saw Jay's worry as he sat on the couch today crying. I was CRYING?? And... Along with the images came a flood of emotions. Hyperness, wonder, tenderness, tenderness, and finally, amusement tinged with a feeling of...love?!?!? Out of the blue, Jay was inside Bob's mind... He watched as Bob watched him dance in front of the QuickStop, and felt his amusement. He watched as Bob stood next to him by the baby kitties in the mall and wondered how a man that seemed so crass on the outside have such an attachment to kittens. Bob, watching as he "I did WHAT?" Jay thought as he watched a memory that Jay himself did NOT remember. He saw as Bob watched him meow, then raise his leg straight up and lick it. Then, as Bob pulled the tee-shirt off his eyes. And then, finally, he felt Bob's extreme arousal as Jay curled up in his lap and fell asleep. "I MUST have been stoned," Jay thought. Yeah, you were... Bob chuckled as he stood by and watched the memory. Suddenly they were snapped out of their reverie when, without even realizing it was happening, their lips connected and it didn?t matter whose emotions were whose anymore, just that they were there. And one emotion prevailed over all; a deep, calming sense of love. And there were no need for words anymore because they both knew, and they could never go back to not knowing and not feeling this sense of love. Jay grinned against Bob's lips as he saw Bob's imagined possibilities of what they could DO with this mind reading shit... "You've really done it this time," The Metatron said to God. "I mean, I know they're destined for each other and everything, but MIND READING?" God just smiled and looked on as Metatron shook his head. TBC Sex next time, I promise!
